Customer Reviews about District Court:

About a year ago I called Spfld District Court to find out about my options in sealing my record consisting of misdemeanor non convictions. The woman told me i had to wait 6 years! A few months ago I decided to go in to find out for certainty and the woman I spoke to said this was something that could have been handled immediately after dismissal of charges. Now, since this misinformation, I have been denied employment because the way I appear on paper isn't very well. What the judicial system doesn't understand in my case is that they were dismissed for a reason.. the people who claimed I "assaulted" them were my sisters who were abusing cocaine while i cared for their young children and they were angry because I confronted them about their behavior. I have risen above GREAT adversity in my life and finally accomplished my dream to help others. I am an RN-BSN.. which is not an easy feat. Now, due to these non convictions, I am being discriminated against and there is no way to prove that is the case. I grew up on welfare from the age of 8. Before then we were literally starving children in America! I do not want to burden this country. I want to be the best citizen I can be. I feel that the misleading information given to me from the first woman i spoke to over the phone has caused great detriment to my life. I would suggest that people in those roles know what they are talking about because there are people like me who put themselves in awful situations in the name of helping others. I am not a bad person. I mentor teen mothers.. i give back to my community and now my community is holding me back. Thank you for this opportunity to discuss this life changing injustice i again find myself amidst. Have a wonderful afternoon.
